023 Christmas Tree Quilt

For our Christmas, I made a tree quilt. 

DH designed it; I created it. 

using only 2" squares.

This is how it began,  stacks of little squares.

Puzzling??

 

I needed to visualize the colours together.

022 ~ Merry Christmas for my M-I-L

A quilt for my 
M-I-L for Christmas.  

 

For the binding, I used some of the floral fabrics

to make a 'scrappy' binding.

She is thrilled!!!

And I am happy!!

 Done!!

Molly the rag Dolly ariana

Molly....that's just the name I gave her

She's for my niece's daughter

My first rag doll...arms are way too thin

Morris said she was fine just the way she was but...

Kitten Holster Morris

We didn't want a "flat kitty"....

kittens somehow 'know' 

how to get out of regular harnesses...... 

I needed a better solution

luckily i found a place that sells "kitten holsters"....

so i created my own 

Morris now has his very own holster

and he even helped in the making of it

021 ~Baby Blanket ariana

I have finally completed this baby blanket; 

it took far too long...I dallied far too long on it..

020 ~ Finally I put my Winnings to Use!! Mine

A little house block, i won on a give-away.  I've made quilts for various people ~ but somehow have forgotten about one for me... this one's for me.

I set the house 'on point'.

on a block!

012 ~ 019 Kids Kids & More Kids!!! marcela / rollin

In May we found out that we'd be
making a trip to Manitoba in early October.
Since we have family there
I decided to get busy and make each of the 8 the kids a quilt!

I really wanted to take a "washline" photo before
I parted with them.

The last stitch was done the evening before
I flew out..talk about pressure??

011 ~ A Birthday Quilt Derry

A friend who is a musician & singer was turning 74, so a music quilt was in order!
Merlin ♥ L-O-V-E-S ♥ Uncle Derry; of course he had to help!


The Front is a random of 4" squares alternating musical fabrics with solids.


Out of the blue (well maybe "ON the blue" I decided to write Derry's name on one of the squares on the front.


DH and I are constantly giving him a hard time about his "girlfriends" so when I found this 'girls' fabric,


I knew it had to be the backing fabric on hisquilt.

I'm still here

It's been a while...
and I've accomplished a few things...
can't wait to get it all blogged!!

I've made a few quilts for other people; my DH says
..."when do I get a quilt"?
hm.... his request was:
a bunch of little squares, no pattern
"kunterbunt"


Merlin the quality control supervisor was right there

I'd hoped to get it finished for fathers day
~no such luck~

here it is, and I really like the mixture of bright colours
I suppose it could be an eye spy quilt for other quilt receivers
they should be able to find "their" fabrics somewhere in this one

I mentioned to DH that the quilt top had 980 ~ 2" squares in it.
980?? he says..... how come there's not 1000?
so here's the other 20 on the back

the binding is of the same fabric that the squares in the backing is.
Pens etc..... so "my thing"....

In the Meantime...

I tried my hand at making seat covers for our truck;

they turned out ok.

and some chair pads.... as you can see they've been tested for durability.
